{"id":2093,"date":"2024-09-10T02:00:23","date_gmt":"2024-09-10T02:00:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bluecirclehealth.org\/?p=2093"},"modified":"2025-09-11T21:15:25","modified_gmt":"2025-09-11T21:15:25","slug":"type-1-diabetes-support-blue-circle-health","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bluecirclehealth.org\/es\/type-1-diabetes-support-blue-circle-health\/","title":{"rendered":"Improving Type 1 Diabetes Support: Blue Circle Health\u2019s Fall 2024 Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To our Partners &amp; Friends,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Blue Circle Health is rolling into the fall with exciting updates on our work to provide type 1 diabetes support to those who need it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>We\u2019re live in Maine and Vermont!<\/strong>&nbsp;Read more&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/blue-circle-health-expands-type-1-diabetes-care-and-support-program-to-maine-and-vermont-302237947.html?tc=eml_cleartime\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>&nbsp;and help us raise awareness. We also plan to expand to two more states before the end of the year; stay tuned!<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>We\u2019ve enrolled about 350 people across Florida since January 2024<\/strong>, and we continue to receive positive feedback from participants. We\u2019re busy collecting data, including outcomes, in an effort to continuously improve our program and share our learnings.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>We\u2019re extending our Intro to CGM Program from one to three months of free device coverage<\/strong>. This change will give us more time to partner with participants, passing on the skills needed to improve glycemic control. It also gives our Insurance Navigators more time to help people establish insurance coverage for their devices moving forward.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>We\u2019re making important upgrades to our Prescription Assistance Program<\/strong>. Our current program gives funds to participants that qualify based on need, to use on T1D related supplies from a mail-in pharmacy. Soon our participants will have digital and physical cards loaded with funds they can use to buy T1D-related medications and supplies at any pharmacy. Our new cards can be used for prescriptions written by any provider (not just Blue Circle) and last for one year or until the funds are depleted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Partnership News<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We\u2019re excited to partner with&nbsp;<strong>The Diabetes Link<\/strong>&nbsp;to raise awareness of the unique needs of 18- to 30-year-olds with T1D and conduct outreach to help these young adults access clinical and support services.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We\u2019re collaborating with&nbsp;<strong>Touched by Type 1<\/strong>&nbsp;to include information about Blue Circle Health in their&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.touchedbytype1.org\/d-box\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">D-Box<\/a>, a kit sent out to those newly diagnosed with T1D. We are also looking forward to attending their annual free conference for people impacted by T1D in Orlando on Sept 14th \u2014 stop by and say hi!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Health Care Partner Spotlight<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBlue Circle Health has added immense value to our care by providing the specialized endocrinology support that complements our primary care services. Their expertise in insulin management and advanced diabetes technology allows us to offer a higher level of care without the need for an on-site endocrinologist. It specifically helps bridge the gap to local endocrinology care, which oftentimes has very long wait lists.\u201d <strong><em>&#8211;<\/em> Megan Cox, RN, CDCES at Treasure Coast Community Health<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Community Engagement<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>In June, we attended the American Diabetes Association\u2019s (ADA)<\/strong>&nbsp;84th Scientific Sessions in Orlando, Florida. It was a great opportunity to network with providers and partners and to hear about the latest T1D innovations.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Our own&nbsp;<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hcplive.com\/view\/diabetes-dialogue-blue-circle-health-with-monica-gomberg-md\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Dr. Monica Gomberg\u2019s interview<\/strong><\/a><strong>&nbsp;appeared on HCPLive\u2019s Diabetes Dialogue Podcast.<\/strong><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>I (Len) was&nbsp;<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=w2QzJKMca_A\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>interviewed<\/strong><\/a><strong>&nbsp;on&nbsp;<\/strong><em><strong>Mondays with Michelle<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;to talk a bit more about the origins and intent of Blue Circle.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>We attended ADCES 24 in New Orleans<\/strong>&nbsp;in August and were thrilled to introduce diabetes care and education specialists to Blue Circle Health at our booth. Education and empowerment are the foundation of our program, so these providers are key partners.
