Webinar: Diabetes Camps Aren’t Just for Kids: How Adults with T1D Can Get Involved
Join us for a practical conversation with Lisa Gier, Executive Director of the Diabetes Education & Camping Association (DECA), to explore what diabetes camps really look like today—and how adults can be part of them, even if you didn’t get a chance as a kid.
There are many meaningful ways for adults with type 1 diabetes to get involved in diabetes camps, give back, and even strengthen their own connection to the community.
In this session, we’ll:
– Break down common misconceptions about diabetes camps and who they’re for
– Explore the many ways adults can get involved—from in-person roles to flexible, behind-the-scenes support
– Share how even small contributions of time can make a meaningful impact
– Highlight how giving back to the diabetes community can also support your own well-being and connection
Whether you’ve never been to camp, haven’t thought about it in years, or are simply looking for a new way to engage with the T1D community, this webinar will give you a clear, approachable starting point.

BCH Group Participant Session: Piloting Your Healthcare Beyond Blue Circle Health
Note: This virtual group workshop is open to current and past program participants only. Registration is required. Details will be sent to the email or text number on file.
Navigating the healthcare system with T1D is a challenge many of us face.
In this interactive workshop, we’ll work with Dr. Laura Garelick, a family practice doctor who also lives with T1D, to build on the lessons learned during your time with Blue Circle Health and help you confidently navigate your healthcare journey well beyond your time in the program.
Goals for this workshop:
1. Empower you to confidently navigate your healthcare system even after your time with Blue Circle Health.
2. Provide actionable strategies to improve communication and collaboration with your healthcare professionals.
3. Help you apply lessons learned during your Blue Circle Health program to sustain proactive, long-term T1D management well beyond your time in the BCH program.
4. Address common challenges in managing relationships within the current healthcare landscape.

Webinar: Living Alongside Type 1 Diabetes: What Families and Partners Should Know
Join us for a conversation about what it’s really like to support someone living with type 1 diabetes. Go beyond the numbers, appointments, and daily routines to find out what matters most to your loved one with T1D.
In this session, Scott K. Johnson will be joined by Blue Circle Health CDCES Sherry Roberts and caregiver Tabitha Johnson to talk openly about the everyday realities of living alongside type 1 diabetes as a partner, spouse, family member, or support person.
Together, we’ll discuss:
* Common diabetes terms and concepts that loved ones often hear but may not fully understand
* The emotional and mental load that can come with managing type 1 diabetes every day
* Helpful ways to support someone during highs, lows, stressful moments, and emergencies
* Communication, boundaries, and how to ask what kind of support is actually helpful
* That every person with diabetes is different, and support looks different too (and can change from one point to the next).
Whether you’re living with type 1 diabetes yourself or supporting someone who is, this conversation aims to create understanding, reduce pressure, and help people feel a little less alone.
