Touched by Type 1
Touched by Type 1 strives to elevate awareness, provide resources and support, and inspire those with diabetes to thrive. They offer incredible resources including their D-Box, a free starter kit for people newly diagnosed! Keep in touch with them for updates on great resources and even free events (like their annual conference) meant to educate, encourage, and empower all lives touched by T1D.
Diabetes Link
The Diabetes Link (aka The Link) is your go-to organization for young adults with type 1 diabetes. They have resources for young adults (including high school students, college students, and young adults in the workforce), family members, clinicians, and more!
Beyond Type 1
Beyond Type 1 is a global organization striving to unite the global diabetes community and provide resources, connection, and advocacy to all. Check out their programs to learn more about their online community, events, scholarships, and more!
Breakthrough T1D
Breakthrough T1D (formerly known as JDRF) provides access to many helpful resources and guides. They also have very active chapters around the country where you can find opportunities to get involved and connect with others in-person.
SLAMT1D
SLAMT1D’s mission is to empower people of all ages affected by this disease to live life in full. They strive to broaden awareness, educate others, advocate on behalf of T1Ders and their families, and to support T1Ders and their families however they can. You're Just My Type
You’re Just My Type is committed to prioritizing the mental health of individuals living with Type 1 diabetes. Their mission is to create safe and supportive spaces where the Type 1 community can connect, share their experiences, and find strength in knowing they are not alone. By addressing the emotional challenges of living with a chronic illness, they aim to reduce isolation, build resilience, and empower individuals to thrive.
American Diabetes Association
ADA envisions a life free of diabetes and all its burdens. They aim to be the global leader, trusted source, preferred partner, and a connected community united to prevent and cure diabetes while improving the lives of all people affected by it.
DiabetesSisters
DiabetesSisters is a non-profit patient advocacy organization that offers unwavering support for diabetes through virtual support group meetups, webinars, workshops, and a wealth of resources tailored for women.
Diversity in Diabetes
At Diversity in Diabetes (DiD), their focus revolves around three pillars: Education, Resources, and Support. These essential elements are curated to address the unique needs of vulnerable populations, including BIPOC communities, men, LGBTQIA+, and individuals aged 65+ in their diabetes care journey.
diaTribe
The mission of the diaTribe Foundation is to help people with diabetes and prediabetes and to advocate for action. diaTribe is dedicated to bringing people with diabetes to the conversation on regulatory issues, connecting the field and the diabetes community, and changing the narrative around diabetes.
Children with Diabetes
Children with Diabetes focuses on care today, so we are ready for a cure tomorrow. As a global resource, they provide support, education, and inspiration to empower families and all people living with diabetes to enjoy healthy, enriched lives.
DiabetesWise
DiabetesWise is an initiative from Stanford University School of Medicine and people living with diabetes. Their goal is to help people with diabetes find the right diabetes devices for their lifestyle. DiabetesWise is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization supported by The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust.
TCOYD
Guided by the belief that every person with diabetes has the right to live a healthy, happy, and productive life, TCOYD educates and motivates people with diabetes to take a more active role in their condition and provides innovative and integrative continuing education to medical professionals caring for people with diabetes.
DPAC
The Diabetes Patient Advocacy Coalition (DPAC) elevates the patient voice to influence policy at the state and federal levels to improve the lives of people impacted by diabetes. Co-founded and run by people with diabetes, they identify what matters most and help empower advocates to take action.
T1D Exchange
T1D Exchange is a nonprofit organization dedicated to facilitating research and driving improvements in care and outcomes for people with type 1 diabetes. T1D Exchange is dedicated to improving outcomes for the entire T1D population through driving real-world and collaborative change.
